Know if there is a chemical emergency?
If a chemical emergency could affect Deer Park citizens, the Outside Warning Siren will be activated.  The
sounding of the siren is the signal for Sheltering-In-Place.  A computerized telephone notification system can
ring the published telephones of home and businesses in the immediate danger area, giving pre-recorded instruction
about what to do.

1.  Go inside immediately.
2.  Close up.  Close all doors, windows and sources of outside air.  Turn off air conditioner or heating systems.
3.  Stay informed.  Stay off the telephone and DO NOT call 9-1-1 unless you are reporting an emergency.
    a.  Television:  DPTV on Comcast Cable Channel 16 or AT&T U-Verse Channel 99
    b.  Radio:  KUHF-FM 88.7 or KTRH-AM 740

Know when the emergency is over?
Stay inside, sheltered-in-place, until you hear the all-clear signal from city officials over the Outside Warning System
telephone notification system, Facebook, Twitter or DPTV.  The all-clear signal is a continuous tone on the Outside
Warning System.  After the all-clear signal has been given, open all doors and windows, turn on your ceiling fans,
air conditioner or heater, then go outside to let the building air out before you re-enter.
